Stellest Genesis

Stellest Genesis is a musical short film I conceived, brought to the screen by French animator Romain Caudron. The music, Study War, was composed by New York DJ Moby. We had the joy of being selected, nominated, or awarded at over twenty festivals worldwide.

As an artist who has dedicated my life and career to addressing the changes humanity must make to confront the environmental crisis, as well as the means by which we can achieve them, I envisioned this film to touch the hearts and minds of the widest possible audience, across all generations. My goal was to depict in simple images what I experienced as a child, witnessing the absurd violence in the world, but also what we must accomplish.

The extraterrestrials in the film symbolize those among us who want to rise to the challenge and change the world for the better. The vast majority, I believe. Because massacring humans in the 21st century is decadent, because exploiting this planet’s resources faster than it can regenerate is irresponsible, because many of us want change to happen now, and because the solutions exist.

THIS IS OUR PLANET TOO!

“The camera is a mechanical comet that captures the light of time to transmute it into secret visions, like a beam of the universe in the human eye.”
